#4 - How Did This Begin?

(Note: This blog post was originally sent as a text, which is why it is more fragmented.)
We are back in our room now. The surgery to place the port went very well, and it is now being used to give her medicine. Unfortunately, the lumber puncture to administer the chemo into the spinal fluid did not happen. The doctor was unable to get the needle in cleanly without potentially rupturing leukemia blood cells. So, she erred on the side of caution and made the decision to try again tomorrow with another doctor. So, the good news is that the main procedure went well. But the bad news is she has to go through another minor procedure tomorrow.
Pray that she does not develop a fever or infection.
Pray for Ellie's comfort and that she is able to get good rest tonight.

Just before heading in for her port placement surgery.
