#3 - How Did This Begin?

(Note: This blog post was originally sent as a text, which is why it is more fragmented.)

Ellie came through the procedure just fine. Thank you for all of your prayers so far!
We have the results, and it is confirmed that Ellie has leukemia. We are still waiting on other tests to determine what type, but the doctor feels confident that it's ALL (the most common, easiest to treat type of leukemia). Ellie is scheduled to have a port put in her chest tomorrow (afternoon, but possibly earlier). At that time she will receive chemotherapy into her spinal fluid to keep the leukemia from spreading. She will then begin chemotherapy to attack the leukemia in the bone marrow and blood, possibly tomorrow evening, but likely the next day. She will be here for a week from the commencement of treatment (tomorrow).
With the diagnosis being leukemia, this was the best news we could have hope for. Please continue to pray for Ellie's healing. The treatment is quick and aggressive. It is not uncommon for children to go into remission after the first week. This is what we are praying for.
Please continue to pray for wisdom and clarity for all involved. Pray for Eva and Nora to be comforted through all of these changes. Pray for Ellie's complete, permanent healing, and for comfort every step of the way during treatment. Pray for strength for Mike and I...physically, spiritually, emotionally, financially, mentally.

Sleeping peacefully after a night of constant waking.

On our way to one of many procedures during the first few days.

Feeding herself her medicine.
